About
Erris Workability is a new, innovative programme for people age 16+ with a medical condition, disability or difficulty. Our purpose is to provide our clients with the opportunity to gain and sustain employment.
We work closely with both Employers and potential Employees, and we support both throughout the process of recruitment. We work with Employers and Job Seekers all over Erris and North Mayo.

What We Do
- We build a profile of our clients – we find out their strengths, weaknesses, skills and interests.
- We find out what the Employer needs and we discuss the role and responsibilities of the job.
- We match the right client with the right employer – based on the skills, abilities and interests of the client, and based on the employer’s requirements for the role.

‘Disability’ is a very broad term – it can refer to dyslexia, chronic pain, mental health challenges, sensory conditions, neurodivergent challenges, physical disabilities, anxiety and depression. There are many resources available to Employers who employ people with disabilities or difficulties.
The Wage Subsidy Scheme pays a minimum subsidy rate of €6.30 an hour to the employer, which can increase to €9.45 per hour depending on the number of people employed under the scheme.
Work and Access is a set of seven supports to help employers and employees: Workplace Needs Assessment; Communication Support; In-Work Support; Personal Reader; Work Equipment; Workplace Adaptations; Disability, Equality & Inclusion Training.
The Erris Workability team can:
- Assist Employers with applying for grants & subsidies
- Help Employers to make their workplace more accessible and inclusive (for both staff and customers)
- Provide Disability Awareness training for Employers and Staff
- Assist Employers with Diversity and Inclusion policies and procedures

Is téama leathan é ‘míchumas’ – is féidir disléicse, pian ainsealach, dúshláin mheabhairshláinte, cúinsí céadfacha, dúshláin néara-ilchineálacha, míchumas fisiceach, imní nó dúlagar bheith i gceist.
